Focus on Youth (PVNCCDSB) - July 2024
For the summer, I will be a mentor in the Focus on Youth program for teens of the PVNC Catholic District School Board while they complete co-op placements for the summer. We did a group smudge to prepare them for the journey.

Pikwakanagan First Nation - June 2024
The Healing Gathering, hosted by Blackbird Medicines, was the first step I made on this journey after completing my certification with the Indigenous Death Doula Collective.

Sheena's Place - May 2024
At the end of May, 16 pieces that I created for a project called To Be Seen were featured at a fundraising auction at The Combine in Tkaronto in support of Sheena's Place, an organization supporting individuals struggling with disordered eating.

Michelle Mackey (she/her) hosted the event. Mackey is a news reporter, anchor and weather specialist with CityNews Toronto. You can also find her on TikTok where she’s amassed a following of more than 350,000 people. Michelle is a proud mental health advocate, sharing her story of recovery from an eating disorder in hopes of inspiring those suffering and their loved ones.

Already having gotten my lash lift and tint certification from Mackenzie, I went down to her studio and got certified as a lash tech as well!

Just before my second year at Trent University, I completed a post-secondary micro-credential

Peterborough - September 2022
Me and Morris packed up and moved to the city, because I was accepted into Trent University's Indigenous Bachelor of Education Program, a specialized program for Indigenous students to become OCT certified teachers upon graduation!

Jeanne-Lajoie - June 2022
I graduated high school with honors, and a certificate of bilingualism, as the student body president having served 3 years on the council. I received several bursaries for my involvement and academic achievements, including Indigenous leadership. I was the top student in the special high skills major of environment, as well as human and social sciences.

Language in the Classroom - 2021-2022
I was blessed with a lot of freedom during this co-op, where I was able to work in three different classrooms gr3-6. Teachers allowed me the opportunity to Indigenize their classrooms by bringing cultural knowledge to their lesson plans.

Dokis First Nation - August 2019
I got to do an 11-day land-based learning STEAM camp (my first ever) through Canadore College and Actua as a high school double-credit. It was a pivotal moment in my cultural journey, and I had some truly unforgettable experiences.

Inspired by the Fridays for Future movement, I organized an awareness protest on climate change and environmentalism outside of my high school.

Women's Sexual Assault Centre: Renfrew County - Fall 2017
In August 2017, a close friend and I decided to team up and design a project for Sexual Assault: The Roadshow, a mobile art gallery on sexual violence, consent, and bodily autonomy.
